Transformer with OLTC

The main function of the OLTC is to change the turns of the transformer winding so that the voltage variations are limited without interrupting the secondary current. By changing the tap position by means of the OLTC, the transformers have the capability to adjust the voltage at the secondary winding terminals. Voltage modification can be carried out over time periods longer than the one required by other devices such as the synchronous compensators or SVC devices. The transformers are connected in series with the power lines, and the main voltage is changed in cascade. OLTC are available for both Power & Distribution Transformers according to client demand.
